Armed robbery is a crime in which an individual or group uses force, violence or threat of harm to steal money, property or other valuable items from another person. The perpetrator usually carries some type of weapon such as a gun, knife or club during the commission of the offense. This term can also refer to any robbery that involves the use of a firearm or other dangerous weapon. Armed robbery is considered a serious crime and can result in severe penalties if convicted including imprisonment, fines or both.
